Creative Hubs Malaysia brings creative networks together to build long-term benefits for communities.
Building a connectionWe believe the growth for imaginative and innovative ideas come from not only being at the right place and the right time, but also meeting the right people. We started the hubs website with this in mind, as a place for consolidation. We hope readers of this website may use it to spark initiatives with creative hubs or even visit one nearby their locale.
Nurturing a support systemCreative hubs in Malaysia come with their own histories, struggles, values, and wisdom. Compiled here are available creative hub resources, a virtual support for anyone looking to start their own creative hubs or are interested in getting involved with existing ones to materialise a creative journey with their community.
The Hubs For Good programme covers five countries in Southeast Asia and supports creative hubs as key drivers and catalysts for good in cities. The programme focuses on enhancing the positive role of creative hubs in an urban context for socioeconomic, political and cultural change. In Malaysia, Hubs For Good is a collaboration between The British Council, Yayasan Sime Darby, and Cultural Centre, Universiti Malaya. The three year programme involved several interrelated projects; a country-wide mapping and research, a toolkit for the use of creative hub leaders and creative practitioners, a digital platform, and capacity building activities to address skill and knowledge needs of local creative hub leaders.
